These works are the artist's reaction and embracing of place, the important world that surrounds each moment and activity in our lives. The inclusion brings elements already weathered into the representational space of the picture plane. Thus the canvas becomes an extension of place, anchoring the works in physical space. and forging multivalent relationships between viewer, painting, place, and artist.
